Replenishing our Spirits at Starved Rock State Park's St. Louis Canyon Falls

Every so often it's necessary to replenish your spirit for renewed energy. But only when you truly surrender to the elements, can this happen. Mireya's inspiration for this photoshoot was achieved at Starved Rock.

Starved Rock, with its 38 mile high sandstone cliff, is the most prominent natural landmark on the upper Illinois River. It’s known for its steep sandstone canyons formed by glacial meltwater.

Starved Rock gets its name from an incident that allegedly occurred in 1769. According to legend, the summit was reportedly where the Illini were surrounded by the Potawatomi and Ottawa Indians, and eventually were starved to death on the summit now known as "Starved Rock". Well, all that history aside Pink Pewter decided to hike 1.5 miles to the St. Louis Canyon Falls within Starved Rock to get creative, revitalize and refresh our souls.

Enjoy the shoot!
